Plant Yer Own Patch!
An Introduction to American Gingseng Forest Farming
REGISTRATION CLOSED!
We had a great response for this program and we are already at capacity. Those who registered in time to reserve a slot will receive written confirmation and directions to the program site.
Interested in native plants? Enjoy spending time in the woods? Looking for a way to diversify farm income or help cover annual forestland ownership costs? Establishing or “farming” American ginseng on Pennsylvania forestlands is a fascinating and potentially profitable activity that can contribute to both plant and forestland conservation. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to one of Pennsylvania’s most valuable crops, American ginseng. The botany, biology, ecology, markets, growing options, propagation techniques and management issues (pests, theft, regulations) will all be covered.
Please see our Ginseng Flyer for details. Don't wait! Preregistration is required and space is limited!

What is the AMWA?
The Allegheny Mountain Woodland Association (AMWA) is a group of people interested in the methods and benefits of sound forest management of privately owned woodlands.
Do you have to be a landowner to join?
No – Anyone interested in the many dimensions of woodland management is welcome to join.
What does AMWA do?
We invite professionals to share their expertise with woodland owners and others interested in trees and forests at our regular meetings.
